An inauspicious start to an accordion-playing career came at the age of 8 when Becky's morris-dancer father bought her an accordion almost as tall as she was. Her dual love of folk & classical music continued throughout her teens & she studied piano at degree level, gaining a BA Hons in Music which was surprising, as she spent most of her time at Cambridge down the pub playing the accordion with the Cambridge Morris Men or Martin Green.
She formed Finality Jack in 1995, recorded 2 albums with ex-Blowzabella members & now fronts Boldwood. Her specialist chosen subjects are 18thC English dance music & the traditional repertoire of Central France, which she has taught to individual pupils & in group workshops at various English festivals, Hands On Weekends at Witney, Cecil Sharp House & in Portugal, Holland & the US.
